The Best Day Ever!

Before I get all wrapped up in my excitement, I have to say, HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!!!! Okay, there I said it. Now I have to tell you everything that made my day so amazing!

1. In Chorus, we watched a video on this musical group from England called STOMP. They use everyday objects to make rhythm. So I got all beatified with my binder, pencil and chair.

2. In CTE, we got chocolate.

3. Today, I went to a deaf couple's house and read to their four-year-old daughter (she isn't deaf). I am going to every week! GO ASL!!! And I could actually communicate with the girl's mom really well!

4. (This one's the very best!) In creative writing today, I got back my last unit. For one of the assignments in this unit, we had to put half of a photo of ourselves on a paper, and draw on the other side with your Alter Ego. Mr. Brooks(who is the COOLEST teacher of all time) really liked mine and he is using it as an example for his creative writing class next year. We also had our Poetry Circle. Basically what that is is that we bring all our desks in a big circle around the room and put a desk in the middle and we take turns reading a section of our story, poem, etc. Oh, and we eat food! This time, we got ice-cream! Our current Unit is poetry, so we got to read any poem that we wrote. I read part of my narrative poem about the greek myth Orpheus (the max lines we could read were 25, and mine was 40, so I read the last part. Mr. Brooks loved it, and he asked me for a copy. So I am typing it up tonight and giving it to him tomorrow morning. His English classes are learning about the Greek myths, so he is going to read it to them!!! And I get ten points extra credit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So that's my exciting news! Love you guys!

Congratulations, Laura! You've got talent (just thought I'd state the obvious). I'm glad others get to enjoy the work you've done, too. Do we ever get to see a copy of your alter-ego drawing (you know, scan it in & post it on your blog)? I'd love to see it. Love you lots! --the other Laura
